Forever

Wow so it has been forever since I posted last.... So much has happened! Mia had an amazing 4rd birthday party where she got her new pony who she later named Chloe and all of her riding gear.

Halloween was a total blast this year! We got the kiddos all ready and took them downtown for about an hour. Alexander is still a bit young for trick or treating but he had fun watching all of the other kiddos and still ended up with quite a bit of candy which his daddy helped him eat, lol. Sierra pretty much slept through the whole event... but she sure looked cute!
While we were down there we met up with Mia and her Mommy and got a few shots of all of the kiddos together with Scott. It was really cute!

Of course we stopped at several friends houses and my grandmas before going home. It was a long busy day but so worth all of the chaos to see Alexanders face light up :)

In the beginning of November we had a gathering here with all of Scott's family. We had all 8 of the grandkids, both of Scott's sisters, Cheryl's boyfriend Ryan and Scott's parents here. It was a full house but so nice to have everyone together for a fun day.

Scott and I had a nice dinner party with friends to celebrate an early Thanksgiving on the 8th. I got up at the crack of dawn (which is not that unusual) and started to slow roast the prime rib... which I must say turned out AMAZING!
There were 9 of us total and it turned out to be a great night with good friends, food and wine ;)
The only thing surprising about the whole thing is that we didn't take any pictures... strange for me, lol!

We celebrated Thanksgiving day with Scott's parents, his sister Shawna and nephew Trevor over in South Beach. It was an amazing dinner (we ate ourselves stupid) and the kiddos did so well that I actually got to relax and enjoy a bit of the holiday without feeling like I was being pulled in 5 directions at once.

The following Sunday we went on a Christmas tree hunt with Chip and Shana out at one of Scott's co-workers farms. It was a great day out and we had tons of fun chasing Alexander through the trees until he found one he liked. I just wish my camera had not been so messed up while we were out there... all of the pictures turned out terrible but I will post a few anyway, lol.

These kiddos are so much work but so much fun and I can't imagine going back to a life without them!!!

More to come soon......

Alex's Time to Run

Well since Mia got her day at the Pumpkin Patch with her Momma and her Preschool, we took Alex today :) We had taken him last year but he was not walking yet so it was pretty pointless other than to get some cute photos to look back on.

Anyway we decided to ask my Mom to watch Sierra so I would be able to get down and play with Alex a bit rather than having Sierra strapped to my front the whole time.

We got out to Davis Family Farms and got the car all unloaded where I noticed we had forgotten the freaking camera!!! Ahhhhhh how could we have done that???? We have like 4 of them but for this occasion we had nothing. We thought about loading back up and running home for it, but just decided to make the best of it without the photographic reminders.

We walked to the side of the building and got into line for the hay ride, when I noticed a couple behind us taking pictures with their camera phone!!! Duh how could I have forgotten about that??? Our phones certainly don’t take very quality pictures, but something is better than nothing right? So I quickly pulled mine out and mailed all the pics I had saved on it to my email so I could clear the memory.

Soon after the hay wagon came around and we all climbed on board. Mr. Davis was piloting this tractor and quickly came over to Alexander and asked Scott if he and Alex would like to drive for this trip. Sadly Scott said NO. I couldn’t believe it??? I almost picked Alex out of his lap and offered to do it myself but I figured Scott must have had a good reason for not wanting to go. Turned out he didn’t and he was just feeling lazy that day, but I guess Alex would not have remembered it being as young as he is so we will just make sure he gets to next year.

After about a 5 minute ride we finally got out to the patch and were able to let Alex loose to freely roam the vast selection of pumpkins. Honestly he was far more interested in the vines and flowers than he was the actual pumpkins but we were able to get him to stop and pose with a few pretty prospects.

Mostly he just liked being able to take off and run without Mommy and Daddy holding his hand. He did sit down in the dirt a few times to play with the sticks and rocks he had collected… this was great for us cause we got a beak from chasing him around and trying to keep up with his fast little feet.

Finally after about 45 min we found a good carving pumpkin and jumped on the next wagon back to the Main building. Besides the pumpkin we picked up some fresh broccoli, a gallon of fresh apple cider and a dozen fresh doughnuts that had just finished cooking… which we used half of as payment to my mother for watching Sierra, lol!

It was such a fun trip out with Alexander, he really needed to get out and run off his stored up energy… plus I think he really needed that special time alone with Mommy and Daddy. I just can’t wait till next year when we can take both Alex and Sierra out :)

Pumpkin carving take 1

Well since we only have Mia twice a week we figured tonight would be a good night to let her carve a pumpkin at our house.

She did so good and only needed help a few times taking the top off. Then she even took out all of her own goo! I figured she would have not wanted to touch it... but she jumped right in.

When we asked her what she wanted to put on it... I bet you can guess what she said... yep... a HORSE. Well thank goodness for her coloring book for me to transfer a design on to it cause I don't think I can free hand a horse onto a pumpkin.
Anyway we did have to help her a bit with cutting the horse out, but she was so proud of it when we were all finished.

After pumpkins she got to open a few gifts from family. Auntie Shawna (Scott's sister) sent her an adorable t shirt

and Great Grandpa and Grandma Hagerman sent her some cash in a very pretty card

Scott and I have to wait till Saturday to give her our gifts since they are things for her pony and she doesn't even know that she has one yet, lol
While she was waiting for me to finish toasting her pumpkin seeds she found some of the supplies for her party to play with

And Alex found this balloon... his favorite thing to do was to bite it. We waited for it to blow up in his face, but he got lucky and it only got a small leak and deflated slowly. We are such mean parents for letting him take that chance... it would have scared him to death!

And just before she went home for the night she got some cuddle time with her little sister. She is such a good big sister!!!

Baby's got her Blue Jeans on

My tiny little girl is 2 months old now! It is hard to believe how big she is getting and how quickly it is happening. She is almost 12 lbs now and 21.5 in long! I put her in her first pair of blue jeans today and it was so darn cute :)

Her cranky moments are getting fewer but it always seems to happen at the worst times... like cute photo ops with her daddy and brother.

2 seconds earlier she was actually smiling. I just missed it :(

Birthday Bash Prep Work

So Miss Mia's big birthday bash is this Saturday! Her Mom and I have both been super busy getting things ready for it all this week. Of course the theme is horses and hot pink. These are a few of the things I have been working on for the goody bags.
Neck Scarves with horsey lollypops

Picture frames to put the picture of each kiddo sitting on the pony in

Nametag necklaces

and kiddo cowboy hats... that Alex obviously loves playing with :)

The frames and the nametags are super cute... I got the kits from the Oriental Trading Company but wow were there a ton of little pieces I had to glue together. Especially since I had to make 24 of each! Yes this is going to be a BIG party.

Miss Mia Turns 4 Today

Mia is such a beautiful, loving, and high energy child. Her intelligence really is quite advanced for her age, often to the point where we find ourselves expecting more form her that really should be asked of a 4 year old.
Though we have misses quite a bit of her past we are choosing to focus on the future and all of the new experiences we can share with her and her with us.
These are some of my favorite shots of Scott and Mia from the time he first met her until just after her 2nd birthday.

This year Mia has started preschool and even gets to ride the bus to school. She is obsessed with the color pink, horses/ponies, cheerleading and dance. I would not call her a total girly girl... but she sure rocks her pink camo!!!
Happy Birthday Miss Mia!

She is SO not her brother!

No child is alike right? Well mine have been polar opposites so far.
Alexander was quiet, easy going and pretty relaxed most of the time.
Sierra on the other hand is either sleeping, eating, pooping or SCREAMING!
I guess that is what I get for wanting a little girl so badly. She is certainly a high maintenance woman who demands to be heard!!!

Every day does seem to be getting easier, and in that I mean quieter. Changing her to the same hypoallergenic formula that Alex had to be on has helped, but she still loves to use her lungs quite often :) I just have to keep taking deep breaths and remind myslef to cherish every little moment... no matter how noisy it is.
